Analysis and Improvement on Optimizing Test Suite

Test Suite optimization is an important component of software testing,and especially has a significant impact on the efficiency of regression testing.For given test objectives obtaining a simple test requirement set and test sequence set are helpful to improve the efficiency.Some concepts of test suite′s reduction are introduced,analysis and comparison on current reduction methods are also given.Then the priority scheduling problem of test suite is discussed.Finally,this paper proposes a new strategy to improve the test efficiency and test suite size by combining reduction technology and priority technology.This paper also introduces equivalence partitioning and quick sorting to change the test suites sequence dynamically.It proves that the improvement works in real testing.
