This paper deals with characteristic features on very fine positioning task using remote control with human eye-hand cooperation.Experiments were provided by aiming for an invisible center of a square target on a CRT display with an image point (IP) controlled by a cursor of a digitizer. Results are summarized as follows.(1) The task consists of three stages. The first one is from start to the time when IP enters the target where the time required is consistent with Fitts's law.At the second one, positioning error is continuously improved. At the third one, positioning error is not improved any more.(2) No good correlation is found between final positioning errors and total positioning time required.(3) Mean errors of final positionings have good correlations with target size and C/D ratio.(4) Estimated value for the total positioning time using MTM is considerably different from the measured values.
