A spam filtering system (SFS) is a middleware that is located between client and server and filters messages passing between them. We implemented SFS based on an open-source reverse proxy – Squid [1]. Squid controls all HTTP request/response between client and server and supports an ICAP extension protocol on which we have implemented a filtering module. While sending back the response a message, SFS filters the messages and adapts them, which will be finally sent to the clients.
