Summary We developed the RIKEN Super Combined Cluster (hereafter “RSCC”) System, and it started operation in March 2004. It consists of a vector parallel supercomputer, five PC clusters, and a PC cluster with MDGRAPE-2 special purpose computers. We use grid computing technology so that the user can regard the system as one system, although actually it is composed of seven different computer systems.
