An Exact Probability Distribution Over Sample Spaces of Paired Comparisons

This paper deals with a small sample distribution for the statistic Y = Er rX where the random variable X, is the number of preferences of the rth object over the remaining ones in a set of size t. The underlying experiment is that of paired comparisons involving n replications. The listing of cumulative probabilities is for the case when the t objects are assumed to be indistinguishable with respect to a common set characteristic. Tables of the cumulative distribution are included for the values t = 3, n = 1(1)20; t = 4, n = 1(1)7; t = 5, n = 1(1)3.
