Improvement of Accuracy for Mesh Generation Method : Its Application to Crack Problem

An automatic mesh generation method is expected to be an effective procedure for realizing CAE system, because time-consuming mesh generation processes can be omitted. This paper presents improvement of accuracy for two approaches of mesh generation method. One is generated by the bubble packing method, and the other is generated by bucketing method. In two approaches, ten node quadratic solid elements are generated by the Delaunay triangulation techniques. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method, the stress intensity factor K for a surface crack in a plate is calculated, and compared with two methods.
