Autonomous airships with sufficient autonomy can be considered as Lighter Than Air robots. An important potential application is bridge monitoring. The disaster caused by the collapse of one of Minneapolis (Minnesota) highway bridges points to the need for better technologies to inspect bridges. In this paper, kinematic and dynamic models of this lighter than air vehicle are developed then an obstacle avoidance method is presented, finally a flight simulator software is introduced.
