A game that is too easy is boring, but a game that is too difficult becomes frustrating; a tactile, tangible game with variable difficulty is a major design challenge. Our research project focuses on four year old children as the end user and uses a modular design combining Lego bricks and marble paths that allows children to create a tangible game suitable to their own level in user centered game play and story creation. This lets children enjoy successful cooperation and competition with other people through the game play process, which results in a wonderful, interactive game user experience that engages the children's inner motivation and challenges their exploratory curiosity. Through Interdisciplinary Integration (Electronic Engineering and Design), we made prototypes and tested the toy on 50 users for feedback and analysis.
