Singular matrix models and Kazakov-Migdal Penner model

In the past few years there has been renewed interest in the large-N solution of QCD due to a model proposed by Kazkov and Migdal. While this model is formally solvable there exist only two explicit solutions, namely for the cases of the Gaussian and logarithmic (Penner)-type potentials. Here we give the complete solution for the latter and show that the model has critical behaviour for space-time dimension D > 1. As well we point out several inconsistencies in the standard method of solution and expectations from basic considerations.
