Improved Watermarking Scheme Resistant to Print-Scan

Abstract Based on the existing text digital watermarking algorithm which has a strong resistance to print and scan process, this paper proposed an improved watermarking algorithm. We show that the detection reliability can be significantly improved by applying error correlation and image preprocessing. Noise removal and document skew detection are two key techniques of image preprocessing. Finally, the improvements predicted by the theory are verified in a number of experiments. Robustness analysis shows the proposed scheme has several advantages. First, the existing scheme is more secure. Second, it is more practical and can be applied in engineering.
