Technology requirements of integrated, critical digital flight systems
A. DETHOMAS, PIO D · Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference · 1987
The architectural complexity and the fault tolerance requirements of the control systems for the next generation of aircraft are much higher than for current vehicles. Appropriate methodologies, tools, techniques and environments must be developed which can effectively support those advanced systems throughout the life cycle. The characteristics of the environment required to support the next generation system are identified. The critical technology areas are architecture design and analysis, and software development and verification. Promising techniques are described which can effectively support development of integrated systems.
