T h s paper introduces the rod wavelet finite element. The rod wavelet finite element is a new7 type of finite element formed using the Rayleigh-Ritz method using the Daubechies 9 ~ wavelet and its associated scaling function as approximation functions. The new element offers the advantage of being able to decouple a complex static model. Therefore a simple model can be executed. then additional detail can be added in critical areas without rerunning the original analysis.
