Agile Evolution of Launch Vehicle Space Software Systems

Jon Duncan Hagar, Mark Dornseif · Space 2004 Conference and Exhibit · 2004

This paper and presentation will examine how a successful space launch vehicle software system has evolved over the years and is successfully adopting leading edge improvement concepts. The Atlas launch vehicle has been a workhorse since the beginning of space exploration and in its current version, Atlas V, is an industry-leading provider of access to space. The paper will be set within the context of the Atlas system and software organization, and we view context as the key for successful evolution.
