The design of digital filters for biomedical signal processing Part 1: Basic concepts: in three parts
Richard E Challis, Richard Ian Kitney · Journal of Biomedical Engineering · 1982
The four main techniques used to describe signals and systems are reviewed: time domain impulse response, and Fourier, Laplace and z-transform methods. The design of simple digital filters is discussed and it is shown how z-transform methods lead to the construction of convenient recurrence relationships and the estimation of frequency response and mid-band gain.
