The Role of a TRIST Consultant

This paper describes one way in which a local education authority (LEA) responded to the Government's TVEI-Related In-Service Training Scheme (TRIST).The concepts of active learning and consultancy are briefly discussed and then the strategies used by a consultant are described within the framework of Havelock's and Schon's dissemination theories and with particular reference to the experience of the dissemination of projects sponsored by the Nuffield Foundation and by the School's Council.
