The Cooling Problem for Spherical Regions

PART ONE. INTRODUCTION. In a former paper * the solution of the cooling problem for several media for the case in which the heat flows in parallel lines was shown to be reducible to the solution of a set of Volterra integral equations of the second sort. The purpose of this paper is to indicate the application of this method to the problem where the flow is along radii of a sphere. The arguments which are repetitions of those in the former paper will not be given, but reference will be given to that paper.
