Personalized Stroke Order Dependent Keyboard with Adaptive Key-Target Areas Using User Generated Data

Henrik Wassdahl, Kwangsu Cho · 2016

There are countless of software keyboards algorithms trying to assist the user. Some try to correct the user, whereas other algorithms try prevent the user from typing wrong in the first place, by changing the key sizes, for example. In this paper it is talked about an algorithm that uses Facebook messages to try to adjust the key-target sizes, before the user even started using the software keyboard. For the 9 participants the accuracy was 90% on average. The algorithm also assisted the user 2.14 times more than it prevent the user from pressing his or her intended key.
