Invexity of quadratic functions and restricted/local invexity

A characterization of invexity properties of quadratic functions is derived and contrasted with existing results on pseudoconvexity. Three different approaches are employed. In the process quadratic functions are used as approximations to C2-functions to prove results on local invexity.
