RESTFul Access To Space Protocol Registries Including Spacecraft Identifiers

The space community has requested to have a programmatic interface to the registries in order to be able to query structured data from the registries for various space mission data systems. This paper describes how the Representational state transfer (RESTful) access is designed and implemented and how it can be used by the community. The query schema and syntax is described. All SANA registries can be queried. Any element in the data model of any registry can be queried. Patterns are also available for target sets. Registries are available in XML format. Response of RESTful queries are records of registries in XML format, corresponding to the query pattern. The query is done using standard HTTP URLs. Various examples in the context of space mission applications are provided.
