Building an entire embedded system in UML

G. Cameron · 2005

This article demonstrates in a case study on how to use xtUML an embedded system project. xtUML is a streamlined subset of the UML industry standard that executes and translates models. xtUML model debugging verifies the compiled model, sets model-level breakpoints, halts execution, views model level trace, and inspects values. They measured memory requirements, processor speeds etc. and calculated the cost differential between generated and handcoding. They used Logiscope to get a measure of code in terms of maintainability, testability, stability, changeability and analyzability. (23 pages)
