Abstract Learning is the process of acquiring new knowledge, behaviors, skills, values or preferences and may involve synthesizing different types of information. Human learning may occur as part of education, personal development or training and can be enhanced. For the enhancement of student learning performance different methods are proposed. In this paper the student cognition level is estimated to enhance the student learning performance. Cognition is the scientific term for “the process of thought”. The students’ understanding of knowledge is marked by different levels by different people like Allen’s cognition levels, Bloom’s Taxonomy of cognition levels etc. In this paper, the student cognition level is estimated using Fuzzy Set Method. The cognition level’s estimation is mainly through inspecting student’s practice and examination records. The cognition level is given for each and every question in the exam and the overall cognition level is calculated.
