Character recognition is the study of how machines can observe the environment, learn to distinguish characters of interest from their background, and make sound and reasonable decisions about the categories of the character.Handwritten numeral recognition belongs to the field of pattern recognition, which is a hot field for a large number of researchers.This paper review an algorithm for recognition of handwritten devnagri numerals using various schemes.
