Networks for Large Data Flows - Revolution or Evolutions?

We highlight the characteristics of traffic flows in the big data era - the flows are bulk in size but delay tolerant. We discuss the challenges of big data delivery, by examining the past and ongoing research activities. We also show possible directions of future work in both control and forward planes.
