On the Expected Number of Visits of a Particle before Absorption in a Correlated Random Walk
Gopi C. Jain · Canadian Mathematical Bulletin · 1973
Let a particle move along a straight line a unit distance during every interval of timeτ. During the first intervalτit moves to the right with probabilityρ1and to the left with probabilityρ2= 1 -ρ1. Thereafter at the end of each intervalτ, the particle with probabilitypcontinues its motion in the same direction as in the previous step and with probabilityq= l -preverses it.
