A new method of Chinese signature verification based on Fisher distinction criterion
Yongjian Zhao, Hongrun Wang · 2008
Based on the fact that the Fisher distinction criterion function is a generalized Rayleigh quotient in essence, this paper describes a new method of Chinese signature verification. Firstly, the Fisher linear discriminant method is introduced and the extremum properties of generalized Rayleigh quotient are analyzed. By the Fisher distinction criterion and Rayleigh quotient, a stable and effective pattern library is constructed, which can be dynamically adapted in runtime to model the variation of signature. In the end, a proper classifier is developed which can suit the systemic characteristic in time and further enhance the verifying effect. Experiments were made using Chinese signatures from different people and very promising results were achieved.
