【Abstract】 This paper aims to classify theories of double-entry bookkeeping system proposed in the last centuries and examine significance of fundamental logics of those theories. From our survey of literatures on double-entry bookkeeping system, we found three distinguished theories referred as the value polarity theory, the value exchange theory, and the capital dynamics theory. Because the value polarity theory and the value exchange theory can't afford accountants reasonably recognize all accounting transactions, we consider advantage of the capital dynamics theory that could recognize all value movements appeared in economical activities of firms. In addition, we develop the value dynamics theory according to history of double-entry bookkeeping in Italy and China. At the last of this paper, logics of accounting recognition based on the asset and liability approach is considered from the perspective of user primacy principle.
