An industrial case study on introducing XP in a complex software development environment

Harald Svensson · 2004

The purpose of the study is to investigate quantitative results when introducing XP to a complex software development environment, which is a frequent type of environment in most software development companies. XP was introduced to a software development team, which maintained a single software system. Although working independently, the team interacted with the rest of the organisation. The results do not provide sufficient evidence to conclude that introducing XP into such an environment improves the team's software development results.
