An Expert Correlator Receiver

S S Pathak, P K Baveja · IETE Journal of Research · 1999

Design of an expert receiver has been investigated which can decide about its front end nonlinearity from a look up table. Considerations have been given for operability of this receiver in Gaussian and non-Gaussian both types of channel noise environments. The experimently estimated probability density function of the incoming noise is closely approximated with that of an ideal generalized Gaussian noise. Three distinct measures have been investigated for closed form approximation. Effect of increasing the dimension of slope error vector on the design of the receiver has been discussed.
