Competing Effects of Environment and Inter-Qubit Interactions in the Entanglement Dynamics of Two qubits

We show that coherent qubit-qubit interactions lead to bright and dark periods in the entanglement dynamics of two entangled qubits in contact with an environment. This behavior is further found to be generic in nature.
