Galileo: Mission Planning
Sonia Toribio · Space OPS 2004 Conference · 2004
Galileo program is now in the Development and Validation Phase, concretely in the Detail Definition subPhase where element requirements are defined and consolidated. A constellation of satellites such as Galileo represents a challenge in terms on Mission planning because of the high number of resources to consider: spacecrafts, S-band TT&C Stations, C-Band Mission Uplink Stations, Communication Networks and the particularity of the services to provide. The following sections introduce the basics of the Galileo Mission Planning operational concept, describing the operations to be planned within the Ground Segment entities, the planning strategy , the nominal scenarios and the handling of contingencies.
