Methods for Preventing Signal Cancellation Due to Correlated Interferences in Adaptive Array Systems: A Tutorial
S Selvan, R. Srinivasan · IETE Technical Review · 1998
The importance of the adaptive array systems lies in their ability to sense automatically the presence of interference source and to suppress them while simultaneously improving desired signal reception. Correlated interferences will severely damage the performance of adaptive array system. The adaptive beamformer fails to form deep nulls in the direction of correlated interferences. Also the desired signal may be partially or completely cancelled. In this paper various methods proposed for preventing signal cancellation are surveyed and their performances are compared.
