What can be learnt about the software process from the internal product qualities?
Simon Alexandre · 2004
The impact of the software process quality upon the quality of the software product has often been explored in the literature. The approach usually taken is to explore the impact of the variation of the process upon the product. The originality of the present paper is that it proceeds the other way round. The product qualities are examined first in order to deduce process characteristics. Valid product quality measures are defined and then applied to the open source software Jedit. From these measures, we expose the various hypotheses that can be drawn about the underlying process.
