Optimal Truncation Points for Independent Culling-Level Selection Involving Two Traits
Stephen P. Smith, R.L. Quaas · Biometrics · 1982
The problem examined is the determination of optimal truncation points for selection by two independent culling levels, given that a fixed proportion of the population is to be selected. 'Optimal' is defined in terms of points that maximize the expectation of a genetic variable in the selected population. An eflicient iterative algorithm for the computation of the optimal point is presented. Global properties of the solutions are discussed. A generalization for three or more culling levels is given.
