This paper describes how the concept of RFID could be applied in the area of facility maintenance service provision. A proposal is presented which describes the context, the relevant stakeholders, required novel IT services, new business models and the concept of Decentralised Information Management (DIM) to allow easy and standardized exchange of building maintenance data amongst potential partners.
