A Component-based and Vector-based Approach for the Construction of Quality Measures for Colour Images

In this paper we will show how fuzzy similarity measures can be used for the construction of quality measures for colour images. First of all, we review the component-based approach in three different colour spaces, namely the RGB, HSV and Lab colour spaces. And secondly, we discuss a vector-based approach using vector morphological operators. Both approaches are compared using several experiments.
