Exact Error Probability for Optical Homodyne PSK Communication System

In this paper, an exact error probability for an optical homodyne PSK communication system is calculated and compared with an approximate one based on the Gaussian approximation. It is found that the exact method predicts the behaviour of the system for all values of local laser power while the approximate one fails to do so
