Integrated Safety Verification Techniques Applied to the Brazilian Satellite Launcher Vehicle Software

This work presents a study on safety testing and safety analysis techniques that can be integrated to supplement the software tests activities. This paper proposes using those techniques to reveal hazardous behaviors of the software that have not been entirely covered by conventional tests and use such detected behavior to produce test cases for safety testing. As a case study, part of a critical system software is used as an application exercise of those techniques. The considerations on safety testing and the generation of safety test cases are intended to intensify the safety verification of the Brazilian satellites launch vehicle software.
