Performance of Overflow on Multi-Core Processors
Thomas Häuser, Raymond LeBeau · 47th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting including The New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition · 2009
Linux PC Clusters are a cost effective platform for parallel computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications. In this paper multi-core configurations from two core to quad core are considered. Single processor performance is evaluated and the most likely subroutines for optimization of single processor performance are identified based on cache performance. This information may in turn be used to improve the performance of OVERFLOW.
