L. V. Shutkin · Scientific and Technical Information Processing · 2007

The Holton metaphor is used to represent the architecture of the theory of modular systems. This new theory is shown to possess a full set of properties characterizing formal theories. Equations and illustrative schemes that describe modules with inputs and outputs existing in nature and society are considered. Equations and schemes that simulate systems made up of such modules are given.
