Influence of Utilization on Performance of Page Mapping Scheme

Page mapping FTL is the most popular FTL scheme for memory-rich NAND based block devices because it delivers good average and worst-case performance even though it requires a large memory. However, in the previous performance evaluations, the influence of utilization has not been considered. This work evaluates the influence of utilization on the performance of the page mapping FTL. The simulation results show that it is vulnerable against high utilization.
