A Pull-push Combined Architecture for Federating Information Spaces

As various information sources and spaces grow rapidly and diversely, the adaptive architecture for federating information spaces is very important to extract, manage and present useful information to the users. We have developed a pull-push combined architecture to support federating information space dynamically and efficiently. Our architecture aims to reduce the data exchanged through information slicing. We also propose to use data translation and wrapper to solve the data converting issues from different information spaces to centralized data repository. Separating control data and domain data is another approach we used to reduce the overhead and improve the performance of the system.
