Recalage semi-rigide d'images de scanner aéroporté

Claude Cariou, Kacem Chehdi · 2005

We address the problem of automatic registration of images provided by an airborne multispectral scanner (CASI) onto reference ortho-images obtained by means of aerial photographs. Into the image spatial distortion model, we introduce a scan line shift process together with a classical RST (rotation, scale, translation) process, in order to compensate for the prominent roll motion of the aircraft. The computation of the optimal set of model parameters is performed via a variational approach by maximizing the mutual information shared by the source and target images. We show that this approach is rather robust and can be used in a routine fashion for the mosaicking and georeferencing of aerial image data.
