Influence of Simultaneous source separation separation on ISS data processing results

She Deping, Xue Zhao · 2014

ISS (Independent Simultaneous Sweeping) is a kind of high-efficiency seismic acquisition technology, and its data processing mostly uses the unseparated data directly. To study the applicability of this approach, vibroseis simultaneous sweeping and continuous recording forward modeling technique is adopted to simulate an ISS dense-point profile with five simultaneous sources, and after cross-correlation with the scanning signal shot gathers are formed, which then are sorted to several pre-stack data volumes with different stacking folds. The pre-stack data volumes are dealt with by conventional processing procedures with or without simultaneous source separation. Through comparative analysis of the conventional processing results of different stacking folds data with simultaneous source separation or not, it shows that conventional data processing without simultaneous source separation is suitable for the high-fold ISS data processing.
