Semantic Documentation in Engineering: Content Retrieval by Arbitrary Information

Modern engineering projects often require close cooperation between experts from different disciplines residing at different locations. A key issue is the permanent lookup and exchange of information between all involved experts. Basic carriers of information are documents. A key problem is to provide satisfying search and selection models and methods. Modern Internet and WWW-technologies offer the possibilities for developing innovative `any time / any place' solutions. This paper focuses on the benefits using arbitrarily structured meta information to markup so-called Dynamic Interactive Documents.
