An Experimental Study of HDTV Noise Weighting Network.

Tetsuo Mitsuhashi · The Journal of The Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers · 1991

CCIR recommends a practical method for measuring the noise in existing TV systems such as NTSC, PAL, and SECAM.The method requires only a simple passive network, called the weighting network, between a noise source and an r. m. s. meter. The present paper examines an HDTV noiseweighting network by subjectively assessing existing TV and HDTV noise disturbances. The bridge-T type network with a time constant of 90 ns works well for HDTV.From a view point of practical use, a 120 ns network can be used for existing TV and for HDTV.1.
