System Identification of a COTS Autopilot System Using Flight Test Data
Ryan Lykins, Shahriar Keshmiri · AIAA Atmospheric Flight Mechanics Conference · 2010
This paper describes the process of analyzing flight test data gathered using a commercially off-the-shelf autopilot system for design an outer loop autolanding controller. The autopilot was installed on a 1/3 scale Yak-54 UAV. Five different autonomous flights were conducted in Fort Riley, Kansas and flight test data were recorded for system identification purposes. Transfer functions were estimated for both the Vx and Vz components using the MATLAB system identification toolbox.
