e-Sign Language Supporting Hearing Impaired Students in Teaching/Learning Process (An Object Oriented approach)

The Living-beings normally perceive the world via five senses. If for some reason any one of the perception-processing mechanism fails or its capability is reduced then the person is said to be disabled Presently, artificial perception with the help of sensors coupled to multimedia processing power of typical computer system are successfully supporting the learning process of such disability cases. This paper considers such e-sign language support in the teaching/learning process of Hearing Impaired (HI) students. A classified vocabulary of commonly used words was presented to a class of about thirty HI students through sign-language video clips on the monitor screen. The results are analyzed through the present paper.
