Spectrum decomposition technology based on physical wavelet transform and its application

Zhu Zhenyu, Wei Zhao, Liang Song · 2009

Spectrum decomposition is a new technology developed in these years helping to understand reservoir. High frequency information of seismic signal in seismic spectrum decomposition can be described finely by wavelet decomposition with basic wavelet function of matched wavelet. According to seismic signal characteristic, basic wavelet is constructed by four kinds of parameters such as amplitude, energy attenuation ratio, energy lag time and wavelet center frequency. It will greatly improve the reservoir description level. In this article, the author shows the core-function selection method with physical wavelet, and the spectrum decomposition method based on physical wavelet is introduced. We used this method to describe marine fluvial facies reservoir. Compared with spectrum decomposition method based on conventional wavelet transform, the results show that the method in this paper can describe geology phenomenon more efficiently.
