Framework for ICT-based Building Blocks Using 3D Printing

With the advance of ICT, pedagogical tools based on ICT have emerged to promote convergence education. Recently, although many digital manipulative blocks have emerged, the digital manipulative blocks have several limitations in regard to building creative non-standard forms. Thus, the objec- tive of this research is to build a framework for ICT-based building blocks us- ing 3D printing as a new pedagogical tool for solving problems with existing digital manipulative blocks. The framework is constructed through the explora- tion of theoretical studies about creativity. This research seeks to contribute to provide a framework for guiding designers or researchers when they design their blocks as a pedagogical tool.
