A Digital Image Processing System For Measuring Oil Film Streaks On a Rotating Disc

In this paper, the photograph of oil film streaks on the surface of a disc is processed automatically through our specifical software. Oil film pattern on a photograph is digitized and the noise in the image is erased by band pass filtration of Fourier series. Thinning and smoothing programs are operated to the modified streaks of oil film, and the inclination angles of streaks are measured automatically. The operation of image processing and calculation is developed on NEXUS-FACOM 170 AD computer.
